Stitch 'n *itch is our version of what's known across the country as "Stitch 'n Bitch". We left out the "B" out of deference to the sensitivities of our small town. It's a free crafting circle that meets at Solomon's Porch in Wilmore on Monday evenings from 6:30 until 9:30 (or later if we really get *itchin'). This is our safe place where we work out our motto (read more in About Us...)
We do NOT CHARGE participants for Stitch 'n *itch; we want to extend that "safe place" to anyone who wants to come. We do incur expenses, however. You can support us by buying supplies for our various activities or by purchasing some of our handmade items.
Cost for all beginning classes is $10/family. Click the links below for supplies lists and an FAQ
Learn to Knit and Learn to Crochet classes are available every Monday at 6:30 P.M. at Solomon's Porch for the price of $10 per family. All you need to do is firstname.lastname@example.org us to reserve a spot. Or, if you'd like to schedule a lesson for a different time and place, drop us an email and we'll see what we can do...
After your lesson, join us at Stitch 'n *itch to practice your skills. We firmly believe anyone can learn if she wants to, so we encourage you to join us after your lesson to participate in our community and let us help you.

We Are the Other Grandmothers You Wish You'd Had
Our goal at The kNook is to provide a safe place for creative expression, intellectual curiosity and camaraderie through the arts. Our Stitch 'n *itch group currently serves this mission, but we hope to have a store in Wilmore some day. In order to keep that dream alive and save for our future store we make and sell our handmade items. Check out our fiber arts for sale here. We do our selling online and i person on Monday evenings at Solomon's Porch Cafe in Wilmore, KY (see map below). This is where we hold "Stitch 'n *Itch", our free crafting circle, where we teach lessons, and also where we sell yarn for our seasonal projects and Knit Picks® exclusive tools for yarn crafting.
The kNook was the brainchild of several local women who all loved yarn and creating beautiful things with yarn, but even more than that, they believed fervently in the powers of fiber crafts to ease the spirit, focus the mind, and fuel creativity. They wanted to create a space where others in their community could experience this blessing of crafting together. This would be a place of relaxation, an island away from all the demands, where the only requirement is to be yourself....
Among the three original members, Markie; Bonnie; and Suzanne, we have over a hundred years of experience in fiber arts such as knitting, crochet, quilting, sewing, and embroidery. Thus, we can likely answer your questions and help you learn new techniques. We take pride in keeping alive the "grandmother" crafts and love to be that resource of wisdom for you: we are the other grandmothers that you wish you had!
